I also want to take a minute to point out that while I truly believe Wealthy Affiliate University is a great program, will full courses and a wonderfully active and engaging membership community, I also believe that this program is not for everyone.

Most of the scam-talk and complaints I’ve seen have been from people who want to magically make money online, without putting in any work. I can say from personal experience that the techniques and strategies taught by Kyle and Carson at Wealthy Affiliate do work, but it’s certainly not an overnight route to success and there’s no magic involved.

This program will teach you everything you need to be successful, but ultimately it’s up to you to go out and take action on that knowledge. Thinking about making money online will never get you anywhere. Trust me, I’ve been there.

The thing that works, what it takes to really succeed, is consistent action. Whether you have 2 hours a week or 20 to put into your project, you need to be committed to the long haul.

You probably won’t see any money come rolling in during your first month or two, but eventually it does come. Getting through that early hurdle is what will separate you from the millions of people who dream about making money online, and put you in the category with the small percentage of people who actually do earn millions of dollars online.

So does Wealthy Affiliate work? Hell yeah it does. Will it happen overnight with no effort? Of course not.

My Story of Success with Wealthy Affiliate University

First, let’s start with my own story. I first found Wealthy Affiliate about a year and a half ago. Due to some unexpected “job changes” I was facing at the time, I decided to look for an extra source of income, and wanted to try my hand at building a business online.

At first, my thought was to simply augment my income and I thought if I could start earning a few hundred dollars or even a thousand dollars a month extra, it would go a long way towards helping me pay down some of my debt and get my financial life back on track.

I knew going in that this isn’t something that I could do overnight, and I was prepared to commit to the long haul, as long as I found a business model that could work.

However, I was also fairly skeptical, since I know there are tons of make money online scams out there, and I was hesitant to purchase anything by any self-proclaimed guru trying to teach me THE SECRET to success online. I reasoned that most of those gurus’ secret is that you pay them to earn a fortune telling you next to nothing!

When I found WA, I was immediately impressed by the community, and found that the information provided in the free course was enough to get me started. But, I wanted more, so I signed up for the premium membership and decided to commit to 6-12 months of working on my business.

I’m not going to lie: it sure wasn’t an easy road. It took nearly 3 months before I earned my first few dollars, and even then it was more like an extra tank of gas than a real income supplement.

But, I persisted, and as I kept building out my business, my income began to grow steadily. It was somewhat inconsistent for the first few months, but soon became stable and reliable. Not only that, but it continue to grow, on average, at 20-50% a month!

So, within a year I was making not just a few hundred dollars extra as I’d hoped, but a real full-time income!

I was able to quit my job, and now live a life on my terms. This program is what made it all possible, by giving me the fundamental skills I needed in order to build a profitable website, and ultimately a long term business!

Is Wealthy Affiliate a Scam? What To Know About Wealthy Affiliate Complaints

One of the biggest problems with trying to learn internet marketing, and affiliate marketing in particular, is that there are a ton of scams and fake “opportunities” out there trying to prey on people looking for a real way to earn money online.

Fortunately, Wealthy Affiliate University is not one of those companies! However, there are still some Wealthy Affiliate complaints floating around out there, and I wanted to take this post to address them and talk about why people who make Wealthy Affiliate scam claims don’t really understand what the program really is.

My Thoughts On Wealthy Affiliate Complaints

Firstly, I want to be honest that WA is by no means the perfect program. I don’t even know what the perfect program would look like. That said, I do believe it is a very good program, and is one that has helped me to make a full time income online.

From my perspective (and having been a part of the Wealthy Affiliate community for well over a year now), the overwhelming majority of the members are extremely positive about the training and community atmosphere provided.

Before you join, you see that positive support crop up in a number of affiliate review sites, and it’s understandable if you’re a bit leery of believing many them. What you don’t see before you join, however, is the sheer volume of people who have success and post about it in the members area. There’s no selfish motivation behind people who write how WA has changed their lives to other people in the community. They’re not trying to sell anything, just give an honest glimpse at what this program really means to them. Here’s one example of the many success stories that crop up within the community on a weekly basis.

What About the Wealthy Affiliate Scam Claims?

So, what about the complaints? Is Wealthy Affiliate University a scam?

Absolutely not.

In my view the complaints you see are fairly exaggerated, and if you dig into them you realize that the person either a) didn’t understand the program, or b) gave up to soon and didn’t stick it out long enough to see success.

Wealthy Affiliate is not a get rich quick scheme. You will not make money overnight, and you will not magically make money without putting in the time and effort to get there.

Instead, Wealthy Affiliate gives you access to the training, tools, and support you need in order to have a realistic chance of succeeding online. No, success isn’t guaranteed. It’s just far more probable than it would be without the training.

I feel (and have always felt) that the owners of Wealthy Affiliate, Kyle and Carson, are very transparent about the services and training they provide. As a member of the community, you can reach out to them directly when you have questions, which is something that is extremely rare when it comes to online marketing trainings. Can you imagine purchasing a Clickbank product and then calling up the owner to ask questions!?!

Furthermore, Kyle is very clear even in the free training that in order to be successful online you’re going to have to work at it for several months. He states that if you don’t want to commit for a year, you probably shouldn’t be in the business in the first place, because this platform is about learning to build a long term business.

Most people that fail and complain about the program do so because they didn’t make money in the first month or two. If you’re realistic and know what to expect, that won’t happen to you, and you’ll be way more likely to achieve success!
